Ta Lang village – an attractive community – based tourism destination of Quang Nam province
Tay Giang is a remote mountainous district, bordering Laos. The district is over 120 km from Da Nang city with a crooked route and surrounded by steep slopes. However, Tay Giang is a famous tourism destination for its magnificent landscape and traditional customs of Co Tu ethnic minority communities.
Ta Lang village has been preserved and promoted for community – based tourism since December, 2019. Located on the peaceful Chơr Lang river, near Ho Chi Minh trail, the village has many unique Cơ Tu cultural traits, such as crafting and performing various types of ethnic musical instruments such as aheen (three-hole flute) and abel (bowstring instrument), knitting, brocade weaving, etc.
Tourists and travellers who visit Ta Lang village will have chances to appreciate the Co Tu’s gastronomy, accompanied by the indigenous. There are other services for visitors to fully experience the local landscape such as following Ch’lang river stream on bamboo raft, admiring R’cung waterfall, Axoo tunnel and cycling along Annamite Range Trail. In addition, the evening in Ta Lang village has many events for tourists and travellers to exchange culture with local people such as commune with the folk song “Rum Cay”, dance the Tung Tung Da Da (Dance for heaven) in front of G; house – communal house of Co Tu ethnic minority.
