Tourism development for Bach Ma National Park, Phong Dien Nature Reserve, Sao La Nature Reserve in the 2022 – 2030 period

Thua Thien Hue is one of the economic and cultural centers of the Central region. With rich natural and cultural resources, tourism has become one of the pioneer economic sectors of the province. In particular, cultural heritage is a factor that helps Hue affirm its position on the tourist map. However, the values of natural landscapes and biodiversity are potentials that not well-utilized for tourism development in Thua Thien Hue province. National parks, nature reserves, outstanding landscapes, unique forest ecosystems, and endemic species of fauna, flora are special features for tourism development in the province. With the proper strategy, tourism in the province may transform towards ecology,  sustainable, bringing more benefits to the community and also an important resource to complement protection and restore nature.

The Center for Nature Conservation and Development (CCD) has collaborated with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to develop ecotourism for Bach Ma National Park, Phong Dien Nature Reserve and Sao La Reserve. These tourism strategy expected to promote ecological values and attract tourism and raise awareness, responsibility to conserve nature and biodiversity. The tourism development in a responsible direction will generate revenue for the protected areas and maintain conservation efforts and restoration of ecological values, special species of fauna and flora of the Central Annamite.
