TRAINING ON IMPLEMENTATION OF SMART TOOLS IN XUAN LIEN NATURE RESERVE
In March 2022, Center for Nature Conservation and Development (CCD) cooperated with Xuan Lien Nature Reserve to organize a training course on implementing Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool (SMART tools) to advance management, patrolling, monitoring, and biodiversity research. The training course pertain to the conservation project funded by Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF).
The training focused on setup SMART system, standard data model, data collection method and form using SMART Mobile for Xuan Lien Nature Reserve to advance the process of managing, synthesizing, and reporting. Along with theoretical contents, participants practiced on establishing data models, collecting and entry data, retrieving, exporting reports and uploading to the database of the Reserve.
After the course, CCD will continue to provide technical support to Xuan Lien Nature Reserve and ranger stations in configuring, updating, and modifying the data model to meet their management and conservation goals. In addition, CCD also supports Xuan Lien to develop and implement regulations on management and using of SMART tools to improve accuracy, timeliness, transparency, and efficiency in management, patrolling, biodiversity monitoring and periodic reporting for the Reserve.
